Frequently asked questions
It is the 10-digit number printed at the top left of your ticket, and in the booking SMS or email.
CNF means your seat or berth is confirmed. RAC means you can board and share a berth until one is free. WL means waitlisted: you have no seat yet, and your position moves up as other passengers cancel.
A waitlisted online e-ticket that stays waitlisted after the chart is prepared is cancelled automatically and refunded. Check the current rule with Indian Railways for a counter ticket.
Usually a few hours before the train leaves. Check your PNR again after that for your final coach and berth.
