When it opens

Most airlines open web check-in roughly 24 to 48 hours before departure and close it a few hours before. The exact window differs by airline and route, so check the airline's page.

What you need

Your booking reference (PNR) or e-ticket number and the surname of the lead passenger. For international flights keep your passport details handy.

Boarding pass

Save the boarding pass on your phone or print it. Some airports and routes still need a counter visit, for example for document checks on international trips.
