UAE visa rules, fees and processing times change, and they differ by airline, visa type and applicant profile. This guide describes the usual process only. Always confirm the current requirements on the official sources listed at the end before you book non-refundable travel.
How Indians usually apply
Most Indian travellers obtain a tourist visa online through an airline, a licensed travel agent or an authorised UAE portal. The visa is electronic: you receive a PDF that you carry with your passport. Some categories of Indian passport holders, for example those holding certain valid visas or residence permits of other countries, may be eligible for different arrangements, so check the official eligibility notes.
Documents usually asked for
Requirements vary, but the following are commonly requested:
- A passport valid for at least six months from your date of entry, with blank pages.
- A recent passport-style photograph and a scanned copy of the passport's photo page.
- Confirmed return or onward travel and proof of where you will stay.
- For some applicants, bank statements, an employment letter or other proof of means.
- For minors, copies of parents' passports; details vary.
Timeline
Processing can take anywhere from a couple of working days to longer in busy periods or if more documents are requested. We cannot promise a time, because the decision and timing belong to the UAE authorities. Apply well before your departure date and avoid non-refundable bookings until the visa is approved.
Check the visa's validity and the permitted length of stay when it arrives, and confirm that the name and passport number match your passport exactly.
Common reasons for delays or rejection
Blurry or incorrectly sized scans, a passport close to expiry, a name that does not match the ticket, or missing supporting documents. A rejection is decided by the authority; our desk can help you check documents before filing but cannot guarantee approval.
